Hawkes Law, APLC is a law firm founded by attorney Karen Hawkes, Esq. Ms. Hawkes is a highly skilled, experienced Trademark, Copyright and Business attorney providing both transactional and litigation services to individuals and businesses. Ms. Hawkes hails from Southern Nevada where she gained initial legal experience in two litigation firms before attending law school. Ms. Hawkes began her career in trademark and copyright law in a small intellectual property law firm where from day one she was given extensive, hands-on responsibility in representing clients in trademark and copyright litigation. This opportunity allowed Ms. Hawkes to gain significant, extensive experience where she honed her skills in and out of court and gained client trust. After eleven successful years, Ms. Hawkes founded Hawkes Law, APLC nearly four years ago.

Ms. Hawkes’ legal practice is focused on protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights in trademarks and copyrights for individuals, start-ups, small to medium sized business and large corporations. Our clients represent a broad scope of industries which include internet and e-commerce, retail brick and mortar stores, automotive, authors, musicians and artists, computer software and code developers, clothing, products, goods and services, craft breweries, wine and spirits and a wide range of additional industries. Ms. Hawkes is a highly skilled litigator. She is experienced in litigating cases involving federal and state trademark infringement, federal copyright infringement, federal unfair competition claims and Lanham Act claims. Ms. Hawkes has significant experience in litigating trademark opposition proceedings and trademark cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Additionally, Ms. Hawkes advises clients on advertising to ensure compliance with the Federal Trade Commission and on matters pertaining to rights of publicity.

Hawkes Law also provides all aspects of business and corporate legal services including entity formation, shareholder agreements, partnership disputes, corporate compliance, contracts, negotiations, privacy policies, terms and conditions, employment and independent contractor agreements, talent agreements, and numerous other business matters.

Ms. Hawkes and her husband and family support numerous charitable organizations including the San Diego Humane Society, the San Diego Boys and Girls Club and the Make A Wish Foundation.
